Riding with Dan & Dylan, Weekend of February 14, 2009
Friday, February 13, 2009. Weather was a cloudy 25 degrees at 2:00 pm. Chute Pond Trails are closed.
It turned out we never got the new snow we were expecting, so our trails remain closed, and we had to cancel the Club Ride. The good news is that we have a very solid trail base remaining, and all we need is a few inches of snow to get our trails up and running in good shape again. Minocqua, Tomahawk, Eagle River, Conover, and the Armstrong Creek areas all got that little bit of snow, and they are reporting a wide range of fair to very good trail conditions again.
We came up to the lake to pick up our sled trailer to take home so Dylan could pick up his 2002 ZL 600 SS on Sunday. I got lucky and found a nice 1999 Pantera to buy on the way up, so that's on the trailer now, too. All we need is a little snow, and we will be back on the trails.
Remember that the R4RD Benefit Ride will go on rain or shine, snow or no snow on February 27- March 1. We are counting on (at least) a little involvement from a lot of people to make this benefit a success. Please make a donation, sponsor a rider, or go get some sponsors for yourself. Then please plan to attend one or more of our fundraising events that weekend. Any questions, or to donate, please contact me. A minimum $100 donation or sponsorship is needed to get a custom R4RD ride shirt (see above).
Let's hope for snow- do the snow dance if you don't mind shaking your booty. Hope to see you soon- on the trails!
Dan & Dylan
